There are three ways to connect your gopro 3 camera to your FPV transmitter

Method 1 - Power GoPro 3 via TX (If your TX outputs 5V)

  • This is great for transmitter like the fatshark transmitter that we sell, as they are able to output 5V which is compatible with the 5V fatshark cameras, or in this case, the goPro 3.
  • This methos is usefull as it can power/charge your gopro camera from your transmitter
Before using this method, please double check your transmitter outputs 5V to avoid damaging your gopro camera.  You can test this with a multimeter.

Method 2 - Power GoPro 3 via built in battery

  • If your transmitter does not output 5V then its best to power the GoPro 3 via the built in battery.
  • Simply cut the red power cable as shown to remove the power.
  • Make sure that you insulate any of the cut power cable

Method 3 - Power GoPro 3 via linear filter Supply

  • This method is best if your TX does not output 5V required by the gopro, but you still want to power your gopro camera
  • All you need to do is add a power supply/voltage regulator between the power output of your TX and the power inputs of your cable as shown (we sill soon sell such a power supply)
